This year, I sponsored another hat and scarf competition on my Facebook page as well as at my local primary school.
Unfortunately, there weren't many entries to my online competition, so I probably won't be doing it again. Here is our online winner, Joe, who designed a lovely rainbow hat and scarf set. (right)
I had fun going through all the entries for the competition from my local primary school to try to find a winner. I was only supposed to choose 2 winners (one for the infants and one for the juniors). There were only 2 entries from the juniors, so I decided to make both the scarves - the hats were so well designed, they were too tricky to make. I chose 2 winners from the infants who received a hat and scarf set that they designed. I also chose 9 runner ups, who each received a small chocolate to go with their certificate because creativity like that should be rewarded.
Here are the prizes I made and the children were really thrilled with them. I might offer this competition to other local schools next year so if you are local to Dartford (Kent UK) and help run fundraisers for your school, get in touch.
